Job Duties

- Development and maintenance of company databases and database objects
- Database performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Management of database-scheduled reports, extracts and other tasks for internal & external customers
- Configuration and monitoring of database alerts
- Support the development team with database requirements analysis, design, solution deployment planning and implementation
- Must be able to handle multiple job duties and projects simultaneously
- Ability to work with both an onshore and off-shore development group on multiple projects
- Must be willing to provide 24/7 support for a complex SQL Server production environment involving multiple database server environments including (SQL Server 2008 / 2005 / 2000)

Required Skills and Experience

- BA / BS Degree or more advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related engineering degree and/or Microsoft Certification for MS SQL Server DB Admin or Development
- High communication skills, will be working with different teams of programmers and users
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008 / 2000 and minimum 5 years related experience
- Experience with implementing, maintaining, scaling, tuning, and deploying SQL Server solutions
- Extensive SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting experience
- Database back-up + recovery and disaster recovery solutions (log shipping, mirroring, clustering, etc.)
- Work w/ database hardware troubleshooting (SAN, memory, CPU, read / writes) & Reporting Services
- Database source code control and versioning + Fast learning skills and technology adoption
- Leadership skills (full responsibility for assigned projects, deliverables, timeframes, resources, & quality)
- Proactive approach in solving technical problems
- Software development life cycle & display effective problem resolution

Beneficial Skills and Experience


- Experience with .NET Framework and Visual Studio 2005, 2008 and 2010
- Experience in the Agile Development Process
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP communication
- Working knowledge of .NET, VB.NET and C#
- Knowledge of MS Project, Word, and Excel
- Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services and MDX
- Experience with Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security compliance
